Injection molding is a dynamic thermodynamic process, which is mainly divided into five stages:
Plasticizing stage The screw rotates to transport the plastic particles to the heated barrel, and the external heating (180-320°C) and shear heat are used to achieve melt plasticization, and the screw retreats to form a storage cavity.
Injection stage The screw moves forward at a speed of 50-200mm/s, and the melt is injected into the mold cavity through the nozzle at a pressure of 100-200MPa, and the injection time is usually 0.5-5 seconds.
Maintain 50-80% injection pressure to compensate for shrinkage and prevent melt backflow, and the duration is positively correlated with the wall thickness of the product (for example, 2mm wall thickness needs to be maintained for 10-15 seconds).
Cooling and shaping The mold is fed with cooling water (20-80°C), and the product is solidified through heat conduction, and the cooling time calculation formula: (S is the maximum wall thickness, K is the material coefficient).
Demoulding ejection Ejection Ejection using ejector rod (simple product) or stripper plate (thin-walled part), ejection speed should be matched with the shrinkage rate of the material to prevent deformation.
